Personal Quest: To recover Glorion, his family’s ancestral sword, lost during the great battle of the Western Gate from a horde of goblins and devils. His great-great-great-great uncle Dorinthi├ín wielded the blade. It and Hadarai’s armor, Goldenleaf, were created by Dorinthi├ín’s brother, the great wizard Telthoran.
The fey residents of the underground city are very much outcasts, although whether this is a self-imposed exile or not is unclear. Numbering only around three hundred, the elves and eladrin congregate in a small community connected to several of the side caverns; here is where much of the food and livestock is managed, as well as access to the underground lake.

The eladrin residents of The Grove (as it is called) do their civic duty and interact with the dwarven majority, but otherwise keep them at arms length. Life in The Grove is austere, mostly consisting of working, training, and religious services. Only those who are on rotation with the defense force get any kind of break from this routine.

The community has several important goals it passes down to all of the children. The fey need to be free and escaping their “exile” to the subterranean realms is chief among them. It is one of the reasons they are as active as they are in the patrols. They want out. Two generations underground is two generations too many.

Due to sparse numbers, every elven and eladrin life is precious and must be protected. Furthermore, pairings between young fey are arranged by the Grove elders for the good of the community.

Hadarai is a third-generation exile; the third son of one of the thirteen eladrin families in the settlement. His mother is a priestess at the temple, which has shrines to Corellon, Melora, Sehanine, and the Raven Queen. His father is the master at arms for the settlement, responsible for the military training of all of the young elves and eladrin in the community.

He, like many of his brothers, cousins, and friends, feels responsible to helping his people return to their home; even if it’s one he has never seen outside of a painting.
